As I brainstormed various decor options for my son's nursery, I knew I wanted to do something that was transitional and could last a few years. I love Restoration Hardware and some of their nursery decor. I will admit that even though I love a lot of their furniture and decor, not everything is completely ideal for my family's lifestyle. However, I am definitely inspired by their earthtone color schemes as well as the mixture of metals, woods, and other natural elements frequently used. With that being said, I raided my home for items that I already had in addition to shopping at a few of my favorite stores: Ikea, Homegoods, Etsy, Babies R Us, Target, Pottery Barn Kids, and the local flea market. I hope you can find inspiration to put together your dream room, too!

Who doesn’t love playing at home? Every team plays their best at home in front
of their own crowd. My husband, Josiah,
finds great joy coming home to the house being rearranged on a regular basis or
a new project that has started. Most of
the time he is a good sport and goes with the flow letting me do my thing. I believe that I have watched enough HGTV to
earn a certification that allows me to design homes, rehab a home by myself,
and stage homes for a living. I find
great joy in creating inviting spaces that are functional. While I love projects in all areas of our
home, I have to admit that the kids and their overwhelming amount of “stuff”,
that seems to take over more and more of our house, seems to take a lot of my
organizational creativity. I love to see
kids actively playing so I do not mind the toys… I just don’t want our house to
look like a giant toy box. Therefore,
one of my biggest design challenges if finding a way to decoratively store the
toys. ArchivesCategories |
